of the businesses that qualify for inclusion in the Metrozona Free
Trade Zone will enjoy the following tax benefits while operating
in the Free Trade Zone:
- Exemption
from the payment of all forms of duties and tax burdens and obligations.
Moreover, companies operating within the Free Trade Zone are exempt
from all taxes related to the importation and exportation of all
merchandise, goods, raw materials, inputs, equipment, machinery,
and other related goods.
- Exemption
from 100% of profit taxes. All productive activities undertaken
in the Free Trade Zone are exempt from profit taxes.Exemption
from Ecuador's Value Aggregated Tax (VAT, locally known as IVA).
- Exemption
from all provincial and municipal taxes.
- Exemption
from the payment of all taxes related to the use of patents and
trademarks.
- Free
entrance of all types of merchandise and capital goods, regardless
of their origen, quantity, and nature. No limit exists with respect
to the amount of time for which merchandise may be stored in the
Free Trade Zone.
- Free
exchange in all transactions made within the Free Trade Zone.
- Free
repatriation of capital earned and exemption from the payment
of the transference of technologies.
