Free Trade Zone is a physical space that is designated by a country
to have special advantages related
to taxes, customs, international trade, finance, foreign exchange,
capital and labor.
Ecuador
has legalized these advantages in the Law of Free Trade Zones (La
Ley de Zonas Francas).
Free
Trade Zones are designed to stimulate international trade in goods
and services, international investment, income in foreign currencies,
and technology transfer amongst countries.
Companies
dedicated to the following types of activities may qualify to be
located in an Ecuadorian Free Trade Zone:

to the fabrication, processing or transformation of goods
for exportation.

dedicated to the sale or resale of goods for import, export,
or re export.

dedicated to providing travel related services for international
and national clients.
